Pair bet on happy times

Bride and groom Victoria and Phillip Caton headed straight for the races in their wedding gear - hoping to win enough cash for a honeymoon. Just an hour after their marriage at Cheltenham Register Office, the happy couple from Bouncer's Lane, Prestbury, were at the trackside. Victoria, 24, still wearing her traditional white gown and veil and clutching a posy, said: "I'm hoping we might get a couple of good winners and then we could afford to go on a proper honeymoon." The couple, students at the Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education, met 18 months ago and decided to wed three weeks ago. "We wanted to do something different," said Victoria. "I may look silly dressed like a traditional bride while I'm trying to put money on a horse but this is the most wonderful day of my life." Phil, 22, added: "I don't care if we can't find a winner - I know I've won already."
